Our children live in a high pressure,
hurry-up world of busy parents, school schedules, competitive sports
and constant media advertising.
Yoga can help children learn skills and strategies to navigate through life's challenges with a little more ease, as they engage with a variety of techniques for relaxation, self-health and inner fulfillment.
The main focus at Kids Yoga Club is FUN!
Yoga at an early age encourages self-esteem and body awareness with a physical activity that is non-competitive. Fostering cooperation and compassion, yoga is the gift of life-skills for our children.
Each yoga class teaches students how to explore the breath, balance, flexibility, strength, co-ordination and correct body alignment.
Children learn with age appropriate teaching techniques such as story, song, rhythm, games and visualisation.
Yoga builds confidence, concentration, guides intuition, and teaches a multitude of relaxation techniques.
Yoga also teaches us to explore ourselves with optimism and self-expression.
Yoga is about giving, acceptance, respect for ourselves and toward others.

* Please arrive 5 minutes before the scheduled class time.
* Yoga should be practiced on an empty stomach.
If a tummy is grumbling, please provide a very light, healthy snack 30 mins before class (e.g. a banana).
* Please ensure that your child brings a water bottle and encourage him/her to drink lots of water, both during the day and after the yoga class

Jasmine has been a teacher to children for more than 20 years.
She returned to Australia in 2006 after working in the USA for 11 years and now teaches yoga to adults, teenagers and children in a variety of locations in Townsville.
